November, December …. and then another year has passed faster than ever. Time in Turkey is amazing. I am still so surprised what kind of environment is in office and what kind of people I am surrounded by.
I always dreamed to have people like that around me: grateful, emotionally intelligence, caring, outgoing, protective, sincere. Perfect! Now I am in the place where I feel that I’m understood and wanted to be here. Those people know how to make you feel good 😀 And if you already feel good, then they make you feel amazing 😀
I am super grateful for the opportunity to be here. I have done many things in my life and I always say: do as crazy things, as unexpected things as you can while you are young and free. You never know what kind of opportunities you might have just because you are taking one crazy opportunity in your life. And if you are like me – a little bit lost and don’t know what you want to do in your life – go and travel! Go find yourself, go have fun and meet new people, cultures – anything that makes you feel alive.
In November I had a chance to go around in Izmir region and talk about my own experiences as ESC volunteer. I went to Izmir Institute of Technology in Urla and one small crazy beautiful town called Foça. I love those small towns – I feel so home there. The architeture there – amazing!

We had a training in Rize. It is small town by Black Sea and its known for its tea. Because of the training we could see a little bit more Turkey.
And sometimes there is too much emotions, too much people… Sometimes its just too much and in order to relax or have some time for myself, I take my time off in forest/ mountains.
Crazy to think – it is December and I am just going to forest and having all this green around me. Prrrr, cold 😀
December, as it called Christmas month, we had lots of Christmas events. Some volunteers organized Christmas market where all volunteers and mentors and local volunteers came. We had small gifts by secret Santa. I got notebook – perfect because I wanted to buy one anyway for my Turkish classes.
24th December we organized small gathering in our home in order to celebrate Christmas. It was lots of fun – we had lots of food, fun games, karaoke, Christmas movie and just some quality time with volunteers and our mentors. Only good memories:)
And couple of days later we had one Christmas gathering in office with good food and wishing all the good wishes for new year 🙂 And we got some presents from there also – I got slippers for inside room. In estonian the world is “sussid.”
And last week of the December I took couple of days in order to go around in Turkey and have fun. I visited Ephesus – its one of the UNESCO places and must see thing!
After Ephesus I visited Sirince. What a amazing beautiful small village. It is known for its vine. Now most of the places were closed but in summer its huge tourists magnet!
Turkey has amazing nature. I took a bus to Bursa and spent there couple of days. Bursa looks really nice but I didn’t feel connected with the city. I visited one of the oldest mosque – it looks nice but nothing special either. Since its not tourist season, most of the places are closed early (about 8pm). But it didn’t bother me because I could take a walk around
Bursa and see what is the night life there.
As I have already said – I love small towns, so I took my trip to Ottoman village. It’s not too far away from city center. I loved it! Another UNESCO things (PHOTO). I mean, there was a lots of people, can’t imagine what it is when its season. It was full and narrow streets, old houses.
Uludag Mountain – another place I would recommend to go if you are interested in snowboarding, skiing. The view top of the mountain is really good but it was really cold:D Since it was spontanous going, then I didn’t have proper clothes 😀
Until next time ;*
