Hello again! Long time no see since the month of January. A lot of things happened and it’s always hard to compile everything into words but I know I will be happy to come back to it in the future, so let’s get going!

Last time we caught up with each other, I was talking about the gloomy weather we were experiencing in Izmir. Well if you wanted an update: the situation completely changed and we are currently enjoying the warmth of Izmir’s temperature.

Months are truly passing by at a crazy rate and we are already in May. Spring came and with it, nature’s blossoming.

The months of March and April were quite special since it was Ramadan time (Ramazan in Turkish). During this time, some Muslims around the world fast from dawn to sunset. This is usually a time that I spend with my family and since I live in İzmir, it was the first time I was away during this period. In hindsight, I think that this is when I missed my loved ones the most. It took some adjusting and it was a bit hard in the beginning, but, in the end, I created myself a routine that made it easier for me to deal with. Whenever I missed my family or friends, I was also quickly reminded that I will see them soon anyway and that I will most likely then, miss the life that I have in İzmir now. After Ramadan ended, we had what we call Eid/Ramadan feast which led us to having some holidays, which I was super excited about!

After I don’t know how many months of living in Türkiye, I finally had my first Turkish breakfast! I lived under a rock before. I don’t how I didn’t take the chance of experiencing this prior to now. It’s literally amazing but when you go, it’s at your own risk: you will definitely end up in a food coma. There is no escaping that. Afiyet olsun 🙂

Let me try to leave the amazing food I had behind 🙂 Outside of that, I also had the luck to have amazing experiences like attending basketball games here in İzmir. My friends and I are the biggest Karşiyaka fans and have been to a few games already, all dressed up in our team’s colour. The ambiance there is out of this world! There is actually a new one coming up June 2nd and obviously, I have to go, I can’t wait for the day to come! Kaf Kaf Kaf Sin Sin Sin Kafsin Kafsin Kaf! Karşiyaka GO!
