THE:PLACE – Türkiye Europe Hand in Hand: Exchange Program for Civil Society and Local Governments aims to create a permanent network between Turkish and European Union (EU) non-governmental organizations (CSOs) working on local issues so that they can have a meaningful and strong impact in their fields of work, transfer and aims to increase their capacities through interaction.

The program is a collaborative exchange program designed to establish permanent networks between civil society organizations in Türkiye and the European Union. It is managed by ALDA (European Association for Local Democracy) and MAD (Center for Spatial Justice) and supported by the Mercator Foundation.

As a result of the applications, 8 non-governmental organizations from European Union countries were selected and 8 non-governmental organizations from Türkiye, including Pi Youth Association, will match in the 2nd round and implement their projects, which they will create in line with the human rights-based approach and sustainable development goals, between March 2024 and April 2025. In the other periods of the program, which includes financial support for these activities and will last for a total of two years, capacity strengthening works will be carried out for the selected organizations.
