Concluding my ESC project in Myslowice; I am reaching the end point of an incredible journey full of beauties, challenges and unforgettable experiences. During my time here, my other volunteer friends and I have had the opportunity to learn about the rich texture of Polish culture while making meaningful contributions to the society we serve. As I prepare to say goodbye, I find myself reflecting on the deep impact this experience had on me personally, as well as the bonds I made and the marks I left behind.

From the beginning, taking part in this project was like embarking on an adventure into the unknown. Cultural differences, language barriers, and unfamiliar weather and environmental conditions pushed me out of my comfort zone, but also opened the door to new perspectives and insights. I had times where I gained new information with every interaction and felt like I was a guest in different worlds. While I was introducing Turkey to the Polish people through the activities I held at festivals in the summer, at various branches of the cultural center in the autumn, and at different schools of all levels in the winter, I saw their admiration for our culture. With every halay danced (Turkish traditional dance), every Turkish traditional instrument played, every çiğköfte eaten, Turkish culture was remembered, loved and honored many times, and I was proud to have contributed to this to some extent.

As the project comes to end, I am feel gratitude for the friendships formed and the memories created. Although my time here is coming to an end, I know that the impact of my efforts will continue to reverberate into the future.

Do widzenia! (Goodbye)

Goodbye dear Mysłowice, Mysłowice Cultural Center and its wonderful staff!
