The “Centre for All: Adventure Afloat” project I participated in Prague was one of the most unforgettable two weeks of my life. As a Special Education Teaching student, having the opportunity to put what I had learned into practice and spend time with children with special needs took my passion for my future profession to a whole new level.

Even though we didn’t speak the same language, I realized that a smile and a genuine look could overcome every barrier. I now look back with great longing on the deep connections we formed with the children beyond words and the warmth I saw in their eyes.

In Prague’s fairytale-like atmosphere, meeting wonderful people from different countries, building priceless friendships, and pushing beyond my own limits boosted my confidence immensely.

My advice to future volunteers is: never be afraid of language barriers or the unknown. There is no door that a smile cannot open. Give yourself a chance and take that first step.

I would like to sincerely thank Pi Youth Association for making one of the most beautiful experiences of my life possible.
