My ESC volunteering journey in Sofia started off very well. During this time, I was actively involved in a wide range of activities, both within the organization and through outreach programs. These experiences helped me develop my communication, teamwork, project coordination and intercultural interaction skills.
A significant part of my responsibilities was managing the organization’s social media accounts and official website. Together with other volunteers, we created engaging content, designed visuals, wrote informative captions and planned posts to maintain a consistent and attractive digital presence. This role also allowed me to develop my digital communication and content creation skills.
Another important focus of our project was educational outreach. We organized interactive workshops in schools in various cities and social contexts, reaching out to students from various backgrounds, including at-risk children.

The topics we covered included:
● Anti-vapor awareness
● Cybersecurity and safe internet use (my area of expertise)
● Introduction to Canva and digital design
● Photography and visual storytelling
● Green skills and sustainable practices
These sessions required us to adapt to different learning environments and audiences, which helped us become more flexible and culturally aware educators.

I also supported the BYF team in two Erasmus+ youth projects organized by our organization. We provided assistance to participants throughout the events, helping with logistics, coordination and documentation. In particular, we prepared and facilitated energizing games and ice-breaking activities, contributing to the overall participation and group dynamics of the participants.
In summary, the first half of my ESC project was a meaningful and impactful experience. I contributed to both the internal work of the organization and its external mission, while also growing personally and professionally. I look forward to building on this foundation in the coming months.
