Working Package 4 : Training kit: How to become a Mentor+?
This training kit is designed to equip Mentors+ with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively support their Mentees throughout their international mobility experience.
The total duration of the structured training activities is 7 hours and 45 minutes. However, the overall training duration may vary depending on how trainers choose to present the theoretical content and facilitate discussions.
Learning objectives of the training
- To provide individuals who wish to become Mentors+ with essential knowledge and skills for effective mentoring.
- To enhance the preparation of Mentors+ prior to being matched with a future international mobility participant.
- To encourage Mentors+ to optimise their support through specific thematic modules.
Pedagogical process
The training manual is intended to provide trainers with the necessary information and knowledge to prepare the training sessions. The training plan offers a detailed, step-by-step guide to facilitate the delivery of the training.
Training outline
- Understanding the role of the Mentor+ – mobility, guidance, responsibilities, commitment
- Preparing the Mentor+/Mentee relationship – expectations, responsibilities, framework, support
- Being a good Mentor+ – key skills, active listening, intercultural awareness, sharing, managing challenges
- Taking responsibility – contact, meetings, follow-up, closure, problem-solving
- Conclusion – resources, continuity, ongoing support

Working Package 5: Logbook – Facilitating and supporting the mentor/mentee relationship
This logbook was developed as part of the Erasmus+ MENTOR project to offer Mentors+ and Mentees a structured, flexible and customisable tool designed to:
- Facilitate the mentoring relationship
- Monitor the evolution of the mentoring pair
- Identify needs for adjustment
- Promote and reflect on the experience
This tool is available online at mentor.adice.asso.fr or as a PDF download at genclikcalismalari.org. It is adaptable to any mentoring context, particularly in international mobility settings.
