Our new project, accepted within the scope of the “Strengthening Civil Participation Project,” has started in cooperation with Foça Municipality.
Within the Strengthening Civil Participation and First Step Project framework, our goal is to promote civil society awareness in Foça, develop successful practices, enhance local civil society consciousness, and support NGOs in becoming more effective.
In this regard, our project consists of an intensive program that includes activities such as training sessions, conferences, and panels to foster young people’s awareness of civil society and their participation in local governance processes. It also features innovative models such as the First Step Center, which brings large communities together with local authorities, and Ideathons, which utilize new-generation techniques.
At the end of the one-year project, an impact analysis report will be prepared and shared with local authorities, CGOs, relevant stakeholders, and the public through a final meeting.
The Project on Strengthening Civic Engagement for Enhancing Democratic Local Governance in Türkiye (Civic Engagement Project) is financed by the European Union within the framework of Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance-II (IPA II) Funds and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The main beneficiary of the Project is the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (UMT), and its co-beneficiary is the Ministry of Interior Directorate General for Relations with Civil Society (DGRSC).
