Merhaba, It’s Lorenzo Living in İzmir has been an exciting adventure, full of new experiences and opportunities. While my work is important, what makes this journey unforgettable are the activities I share with other volunteers, Turkish friends, and mentors. Together, we explore the city, have meaningful conversations, and experience Turkish culture.
Since arriving in Türkiye for my volunteer work with Pi Youth Association, each month has been an opportunity for personal and professional development. These past weeks have been particularly enriching, marked by travels, inspiring encounters, and significant events. Here is a recount of these memorable moments.
Hello and welcome to my second blog post about my volunteering in Türkiye. It’s hard to believe how much time has flown by since my first post a few months ago. A lot has changed since then, and I’m now halfway through this experience. Time seems to be slipping through my fingers, but the more I go on the more I’m getting used to the activities I’m involved in.
Here it is, after a long month of impatience, I finally made it ! I left my Berlin life for another one in Izmir on the Mediterranean coast. A really wise decision especially when winter is coming.
I’ve had the chance to travel a lot over the past two months. Along with the other volunteers, I attended a seminar in Diyarbakir organized by the National Agency. The eastern part of Türkiye is incredibly rich in culture. Its architecture, traditions, and vibrant energy made me feel so comfortable, even though I hadn’t expected it to. One thing I’m sure of: I’ll be going back there very soon! I’m especially grateful for these kinds of gatherings because they provide a fantastic opportunity to connect with other European volunteers based in different cities.
Welcome back! Since my last post, my time in Izmir as a volunteer has only become more exciting and meaningful. Every day brings something new – challenges to tackle, discoveries to make, and connections to cherish. From moments of reflection, this experience has been so much more than just a cultural exchange. It’s been a journey of growth, adaptability, and learning to work together with others.
It has now been four months since I arrived in Izmir as an Erasmus volunteer, and each day continues to bring its share of learning, challenges, and discoveries. This second chapter of my journey is marked by smoother adaptation to my role as a volunteer, enriching travels, and a daily life that is slowly finding its rhythm.
The main objective of the recent Training course for the Erasmus+ project “Building Bridges with the Local Community” in Croatia is to equip youth workers and leaders with advanced skills and knowledge to act as catalysts in disseminating information on migration and inclusion in their communities…
Are you ready to dive into the real experiences of our ESC volunteers in Brazil, Ghana and Vietnam? In this blog, you’ll find memories from their daily life, cultural discoveries, challenges they faced, and inspiring moments.
