Hello and welcome to this third blogpost about my life in izmir . The time has been passing by really fast since the last time because things and situations change all the time.

While I spent christmas in Hamburg with my family I got some rest and time with my loved ones but was even happier when I came back to Karşıyaka to meet my lovely flatmates.

Irmina and I went on a lot of coffee dates and long walks together talking about life and future while eating waffles.

Between meetings with my mentor and shopping at the bazaar we got some time to visit the close-by city, Urla. It has a beautiful small city center with little shops and great börek. Afterwards we went to the beach which is close to the city but with many balık restaurants and a wide promenade which I imagine is great for swimming in the summer.

Since January, some new workshop places have been starting for us which is why we get to discover still a lot of new places of the city. Especially in Konak where I am usually not around. A few weeks ago, on the weekend, a large group of volunteers decided to go hiking in Balçova. It is well connected to the city center but still in the nature full of fresh air and high mountains. This day was so great because it felt like a retreat from city life and traffic.

But just shortly after, I had to go back to Germany for two weeks. I was really crushed to leave the country once again, I wish this would not have been necessary but sadly it was. It has also been successful so definitely worth it and I hope I can enjoy these months that are left as much as possible.

See you next time, Franca
