As I look back on the past three months, it’s hard to believe how much has happened. When I first arrived in Izmir, I was filled with a mix of excitement and uncertainty, unsure of what this chapter would bring. Now, this city and the experiences I’ve had here feel like a central part of my journey.

One of the highlights these past few months was travelling around türkiye. I had the incredible opportunity to visit Gaziantep, Mardin, and Diyarbakır, and I was left in awe at every turn. The historical richness, colors, and unique flavors of these regions were unlike anything I had experienced before. Each city had its own story, its own energy, and I left with a deeper appreciation for the diversity and beauty of türkiye.

Back in Izmir, I had the chance to turn creative ideas into reality. Inspired by my love for arts, I initiated a theater workshop, which will soon open its doors to participants who are eager to explore self-expression and storytelling. In parallel, I’ve set up a dance workshop to encourage movement and connection within the community of Gaziemir. These projects have allowed me to turn my passion into something meaningful, and I can’t wait to see how they unfold.

Life as a volunteer at PI Youth Association has been quite exciting. From day one, I was welcomed into an environment that values teamwork and support. Whether it’s simply sharing a cup of tea during breaks or solving any problems together, there’s a sense of “belonging” that makes every moment rewarding.Adapting to life in Izmir has also been a journey of personal growth. Learning Turkish has been both challenging and vivid. Each conversation—no matter how small—feels like a step forward.Furthermore, I’ve embraced new routines, like joining a local gym, which has helped me adapt better to the excitement of daily life here.

What stands out most, though, is the way this whole experience has shaped me. From overcoming hurdles to building new friendships, every moment has contributed to a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.Challenges that once felt intimidating now seem like opportunities to grow, and I’ve become more confident, curious, and adaptable as a result.

These three months have been a circle of learning, connection, and discovery. I’m grateful for the people who’ve supported me, the projects that make me feel a lot of joy and the city hat continues to inspire me. As I move forward, I carry these experiences with me, knowing they’ve become an important part of myself.
