About CAVAN

🌍 Welcome to the CAVAN Project!

Climate change is a global challenge, but the best solutions start locally. The CAVAN (Climate Action Volunteering and Awareness Network) project connects passionate European volunteers with communities in Brazil, Ecuador, Ghana, and Vietnam to build a greener, more resilient future.

🎯 Our Aim & Working Area Shifting the focus from reactive humanitarian aid to proactive, sustainable development, our core mission is to enhance climate change awareness and build local resilience in vulnerable regions. Guided by the UN’s principle of “leaving no one behind,” our volunteers work hand-in-hand with local communities. Together, we focus on practical, context-sensitive solutions in environmental sustainability, disaster preparedness, climate-smart agriculture, and social inclusion.

📍 Our Global Impact at a Glance:

🇧🇷 Brazil (Umbuntu): Cultivating organic gardens, promoting eco-friendly bio-construction, and empowering women through sustainable entrepreneurship.

🇪🇨 Ecuador (Panzaleo): Building disaster resilience through risk mapping, early warning systems, and climate-smart infrastructure in highly vulnerable areas.

🇬🇭 Ghana (Esikuma): Addressing post-pandemic challenges by supporting youth education, public health awareness, and sustainable farming practices.

🇻🇳 Vietnam (Hoa Binh): Inspiring environmental action and green living through a youth-led community “green café” focused on upcycling and waste reduction.

  • 📆 Project duration: 6 months
