Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a 9-day youth exchange program in Hungary. What started as a simple program quickly turned into one of the most impactful experiences of my life. Over the course of those nine days, I met amazing people from different corners of the world, forming friendships that I know will last a lifetime. The experience also significantly enhanced my communication skills, as we all learned to connect despite our different backgrounds.
The activities we engaged in were designed to bring us closer together, and they did just that. We had countless opportunities to get to know each other, and in the process, we observed both our cultural similarities and our unique differences. One of the most profound aspects of the program was our deep dive into historical conflicts and anti-war movements. Through these studies, I developed a better understanding of peaceful solutions to complex issues—a skill that I know will be invaluable in the future.
The program wasn’t just about discussions and activities, though. We also had the chance to explore the rich history and culture of the region. We visited local museums and libraries, where presentations, lectures, and guided tours brought the history of Hungary to life. These experiences were not just educational; they were eye-opening, providing a deeper appreciation for the cultural heritage of the area.
