Hi, my name is Dorin and for the last 6 months, I have been a volunteer in Kielce, Poland. Kielce is a small city stationed between Warsaw and Krakow, it is very calm and peaceful compared to the big cities.
During my stay, I worked in a school and helped the students with their english. I had students from first to eight grade, and also spent time in kindergarten to help them out in my free time.I had speaking lessons and also helped the other teachers out as well, I also had speaking lessons with one of the teachers.
Throughout my stay I made many friends from different countries, and I was lucky enough to be considered their good friends. I had the chance to form great memories with them, even going as far as attending one of my friends’ wedding ceremony in Krakow.
Even though my students sometimes made me feel so tired, I loved them from the bottom of my heart. I wouldn’t change a thing about them, although I wish some of them just liked English a little bit more.
I had good and bad days, but overall it was an amazing experience for me. I feel so lucky that I got to go to this country, and possibly changed my life. I cannot wait to visit there again, and I cannot express how excited I am for new volunteers who will go there!
p.s.: It is cold, so if you don’t like it, don’t forget to pack proper clothes and brace yourselves!
