Hi guys! Its Ula again!

The last time I wrote to you was in January. Oh, my gosh! How much has changed since then!

First of all – I experienced winter in Turkey! Very interesting experience if you live your whole life in Eastern, cold Europe…

For the last quarter, I focused on traveling around the Izmir region.

Together with other volunteers we visited Aliağa, Sirince, Kaynaklar and Ephesus. In each of these cities it was amazing! Such trips always help to strengthen the bonds between us even more. Because there is nothing more in common than a shared adventure! And in Izmir ypu can find so many of them! I appreciate the weather the most in Izmir.

Because in Poland, it is impossible to go hiking in the middle of February wearing a sweatshirt! As for the attractions that we have been using recently with other volunteers, I cannot fail to mention the classical music concert, which was hosted by Polish musicians!

I do not know how but in March I passed Ankara twice!

Of course, we visited all the castles, the monument of Atatürk, Kızılay, or other top attractions of this city! I don’t want to be rash in my decision, but I think I liked the peace of Ankara better than the bustling Izmir. There’s not so many traffic jams, there’s more subway lines, a quite colder, and it’s kind of… clean.

On my second trip to Ankara I decided to fly by plane. Oh! What a relief for my travel sickness to have only one instead of eight hours in prison!

And to be honest, that trip was probably my favorite memory from Turkey. I had the pleasure of being hosted in a real Turkish house, where Turkish breakfast was served every day (of which I am a HUGE FAN), I was surrounded by a powerful amount of love.

FAN), I was surrounded by a powerful amount of love.

It was a big patch on my sense of homesickness. Unfortunately, however, this proved to be insufficient. At the end of March I decided to give up the project and return to my family home in Poland. Even though I was heartbroken, I knew it was the right decision. It was not easy to leave my roommates, other volunteers, PIYA team or boyfriend.

Now I am writing to you from Wrocław. I am very grateful for the whole experience of volunteering, for all the people I met and who opened their hearts to me.You are always welcome in Wrocław!

I send kisses to Izmir!
