Located in the south of Poland, Katowice has become one of the developing cities that has blown a wind of change in recent years. Although it is mostly known as a business and industrial city, there is a different side to life in this city. When I decided to come here as a volunteer, I stepped into this new world knowing only Turkish and English. I would like to tell about the experiences that Katowice offered me and the life here

Poland can be a bit of a challenging country in terms of language, because the grammar and pronunciation of the Polish language is really complex. For someone like me who speaks Turkish and English, it was a bit challenging to communicate at first. Although Katowice is a large city, it has more international people than other parts of Poland. That’s why it’s possible to find many English speakers, especially among university students and young professionals.

Starting to live in Poland may initially come with some challenges. However, Katowice is a city that you can easily adapt to, with both its historical texture and modern structure. People are open-minded to different cultures and always
willing to help. As you slowly begin to overcome the language barrier, the opportunities offered by life in the city become quite enjoyable.

In conclusion, Katowice is a city worth exploring in Polan with its multicultural structure, social events and friendly people. The time I spent in this city, both as a volunteer and personally, gave me very valuable experiences.
